Two Mars Area High School seniors have committed to continuing their baseball career at the college level.
Zack Orosz has signed a letter of intent to join the Purple Raiders Men’s Baseball Team at the University of Mount Union (Alliance, Ohio), where he has yet to declare a major.
Orosz is a four-year member of Mars Area High School Varsity Baseball Team, which advanced to the first round of the 2022 WPIAL Class 5A Varsity Baseball Championship. The Fightin’ Planets ended the regular season with an overall record of 14-5 and 11-1 in section, earning the Section 2-5A title.
At Mars Area High School, Orosz is also a four-year member of the Boys Varsity Basketball Team. In the community, he has volunteered at youth basketball camps.
Tom McLaren has signed a letter of intent to join the Presidents Men’s Baseball Team at the Washington & Jefferson College, where he plans to major in finance.
McLaren is a four-year member of Mars Area High School Varsity Baseball Team, which advanced to the first round of the 2022 WPIAL Class 5A Varsity Baseball Championship. The Fightin’ Planets ended the regular season with an overall record of 14-5 and 11-1 in section, earning the Section 2-5A title.
At Mars Area High School, McLaren is a member of Chess Club and Spanish National Honor Society. In the community, he has volunteered at youth baseball camps.
