Mars Area High School’s AFS/MISA (Mars International Student Association) Chapter welcomed exchange students from across the globe as part of the school’s “International Day,” held March 23.
Exchange students June Bjaen (Norway), Vasco Campos (Portugal), Joel Hoster (Germany), Niko Lund (Norway), Karola Natuzzi (Italy) and Nora Rigler (Austria) spoke with Mars Area High School students about their home countries and about adapting to America culture.
The goal of the annual celebration is to show Mars Area students that there are people in different countries with whom they share many similarities and differences and that recognizing those distinctions can help them to better understand world cultures and events.
Mars Area High School’s AFS/MISA Chapter is an international exchange program that welcomes high school students from around the world as well as offers scholarships to eligible students who are interested in traveling abroad.
