Mars Area High School’s French classes have announced the winners of the school’s 2026 “Manie Musicale de Mars” music bracket competition, held in April.

Freshman Allison Sottile was the overall winner. Senior Tristan Murphy was named the French 4 winner; junior Alexa Knowlton (French 3); sophomore Elise Wadas (French 2); and, freshman Londyn Denk and freshman Mila Yost (French 1).

The competition, a play on “March Madness,” encouraged students to listen to contemporary French music; participate in supplemental activities; and connect with the larger French-speaking community. Students participated in the national activity by submitting brackets and voting for their favorite songs.
