Reva KalbhorMars Area High School junior Reva Kalbhor was named to the 2023 Trib Total Media Outstanding Young Citizen Elite Top 10.

The designation is awarded to those students who exemplify character and leadership through community service and academic achievement.

Kalbhor plans to pursue her passion for space exploration after high school as an aerospace science major in college. Her goal is to join the U.S. Air Force as a pilot or the U.S. Space Force as space operations officer.

At Mars Area High School, Kalbhor is a member of the school’s National Honor Society Chapter and the Pine-Richland/Mars Area U.S. Air Force JROTC. She was recently selected as the 2022-2023 AFJROTC Cadet of the Year for Pennsylvania.

This summer, she hopes to expand on her leadership abilities by attending the U.S. Air Force Academy Summer Seminar and the American Legion Auxiliary Girls State event. In the community, Kalbor works with Pedal2Success Inc., which provides bicycles to underprivileged students around the world, so that they have a way to get to school.

All 2023 Outstanding Young Citizens were honored in a Special Section of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review’s Westmoreland and Valley News Dispatch editions, published on April 27. For more information, visit https://oyc.triblive.com/elite-top-100/.
