Mars Area High School seniors Nicholas Ferrari and Ella Tirch were crowned as the school’s 2023 Homecoming Queen and King.

Other Homecoming Court members were queen candidates Brooke Beck, Brooke Bowes, Cece Crowley, Addi Girdwood, Lily Goodworth, Riley Mayer and Nora Solich; and, king candidates Ryan Garver, Jacob Maple, Ben Matusek, Will Matusek, Adam McElhinny, Evan Wright and Cole Yoshioka. Honorary court members were exchange students Charlotte Nikel (Germany) and Marko Pavlovski (North Macedonia).

Mars Area High School celebrated Homecoming, Sept. 25-30, with students participating in Spirit Week theme days and other activities to earned points for their class. This year, the senior class earned the most points and was awarded the school’s coveted Spirit Stick.

The annual Homecoming Parade traversed through Downtown Mars on Sept. 29, followed by the Homecoming Football Game, in which the Fightin’ Planets triumphed over the Highlands Golden Gams 48-15. Tirch was crowned at halftime.

On Sept. 30, high school students attended the 2023 Homecoming Dance, themed “A Night at the Carnival,” at Mars Area Middle School. Ferrari was crowned at the dance.
