Two teams of Mars Area High School students competed in the 2024 Western Pennsylvania High School Science Bowl, held Feb. 24 at Community College of Allegheny County — South Campus.

Students are seniors Declan Abbey and Mitchell Kulfan; sophomores Levi Jackson and Naveen Jayaraman; and freshmen Alexis Abbey, Sophia Gourash, Nolan Horvath and Grace Nam.

The students, who competed against teams from local high schools, were asked questions related to biology, chemistry, earth & space, energy, mathematics and physics.
