The purpose of the event was to recognize those students who are leaving career and technical education and are either employed, enrolled, or enlisted. Miller, a Collision Repair student at the Butler County Area Vocational-Technical School, has been working at Classic Automotive (Mars) as a cooperative education student since her sophomore year and “signed” to continue her employment at the collision and mechanical repair facility.
She was one of five students from Butler County vo-tech, who were chosen to attend the event based upon their instructor’s recommendation as well as their demonstrated excellence in their program, and their plans to continue their career beyond school. The students and their families were provided with tickets to the Pittsburgh Pirates game after the Signing Day event.
