Mars Area School District contracted with American Contracting Enterprises to complete an asbestos abatement within Mars Area High School library on Aug. 1-2.

In the process of replacing the carpeting in Mars Area High School’s library, the presence of asbestos was identified in the glue under the tile floor beneath the carpet. At this time, the tile and glue have been completely removed and air quality testing has reported no issues. 

Please note that at no time was the health and safety of the student body and/or staff members at Mars Area High School affected by this issue.
