Mars Area High School seniors Kyle Kochanski and Jamie Compton were crowned as the school’s 2024 Homecoming Queen and King.

Other Homecoming Court members were queen candidates Morgan Duker, Ava Herbolich, Alyssa Hipsky, Ellie Koma, Elianna Maher, Susanna Tomkovicz and Bella Yoshioka; and, king candidates Logan Becker, Sean Brennan, Ian Coulter, Luke Goodworth, Liam Hein, Eric Kasperowicz and Maxwell Zagorski. Honorary court members were exchange students Alexander Demmel (Germany) and Lasse Evels (Germany).

Mars Area High School celebrated Homecoming, Oct. 7-12, with students participating in Spirit Week theme days and other activities to earned points for their class. This year, the sophomore class earned the most points and was awarded the school’s coveted Spirit Stick.

The annual Homecoming Parade traversed through Downtown Mars on Oct. 11, followed by the Homecoming Football Game, in which the Fightin’ Planets were defeated 28-7 by the McKeesport Area Tigers. Compton was crowned at halftime. 

On Oct. 12, high school students attended the 2024 Homecoming Dance, themed “On Cloud 9,” at Mars Area Middle School. Kochanski was crowned at the dance.
