Several Mars Area School District students joined in a field trip to Breakout Games Pittsburgh (Ross Township) to test their creative thinking skills.
The students were tasked with using clues, partnered with their ingenuity and collaboration skills, to “break out” of an escape room, says Courtney Waugaman, gifted teacher. Each of the four teams were able to break out.
Participating students included Mars Area High School seniors Carson Mahan, Patrick Miko, Dylan Weitzell and Derek Piatek; juniors Julian Coquelet, Naveen Jayaraman, Aidyn Mead; and, freshmen Jackson Everhart, Joao Junqueira-Pinto, Riley Long and Jacob Shebek; as well as Mars Area Middle School eighth-graders Olivia Airgood, Blake Brewer, Madison Cawley, Grant Dunn, Avery Harrison, Parker Joseph, Meredith Lindsay, Mateus Morgueta, Jack Sechler and Andrew Sherwin; and, seventh-graders Everly Henderson, Emma Johnston, Jacqueline Li, Mary Rhenish and Jackson Wagner.
