Student Artwork Awarded in Slippery Rock Exhibit

Artworks by two Mars Area High School students were selected for the 2024 Slippery Rock University Juried High School Art Exhibition, held Nov. 4-14 at the university’s Martha Gault Gallery.

Senior Ava Herbolich received the Faculty Choice Award for her graphite on paper, “Homage to Thomas Whiteside.” Herbolich’s acrylic on canvas, “In the Orange,” along with two works by senior Sami Mazurek, “Healing Water” and Growth is Pain,” both acrylic on canvas, were also featured in the show.

Out of the 230 entries submitted by high school students from throughout the region, only 70 were selected for the exhibition. For more information, visit www.facebook.com/martha.gault.art.gallery/.
