Mars Area School Board has appointed Hope Schreiber to fill the position of assistant principal at Mars Area High School.
Schreiber will replace Doug Skelley, who resigned as the school’s assistant principal after three years to take a principal position at another school district.
Schreiber holds a master’s degree in educational administration from Point Park University and a bachelor’s degree in middle level math education from La Roche College.
She previously served as an assistant principal at Sto-Rox Junior/Senior High School; as an eighth grade mathematics teacher at Pittsburgh Public Schools; and as a seventh grade pre-algebra/mathematics teacher at Northside Middle School (West Columbia, S.C.).
She has also served as a girls varsity basketball head coach and a middle school basketball coach at Sto-Rox High School; and as an girls varsity basketball assistant coach at Deer Lakes High School.
