Lindsay, president of Mars Area High School’s Best Buddies Club, was one of several students selected to represent Pennsylvania at the event, which offered workshops, seminars, and various other events discussing how to improve school communities by including those with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
“(Meredith) approached every day and each experience throughout our conference with a positive attitude, a smile on her face, and by initiating conversations with me, new in-state and out-of-state friends, and speaking up in our educational sessions,” says Elise Hassinger, Best Buddies International Western Pennsylvania program manager. “We are so very proud of the group of high school student leaders who represented our state this year — Meredith included.”
