STEMsters, is a national organization run by students, and dedicated to inspiring and educating kids through hands-on, engaging STEM activities. The 501(c)(3) non-profit has 169 chapters in 25 states and six countries.
“Our chapter at Mars Area High School meets once a month and has reached 25 students so far this year,” says junior Alexis Riner STEMsters social outreach manager. “High school student volunteers lead every lesson, covering everything from simple chemistry experiments to basic coding.”
The STEMsters curriculum is designed specifically for students in Grades K-5. And, projects highlight the creativity, curiosity, and collaboration
The chapter’s will offer lessons will be offered at 11 a.m. on Saturdays, Sept. 19 and Oct. 17, at Cranberry Area Public Library. Registration is available at Cranberry Library Event Calendar.
