The show will features several of Ludwig van Beethoven’s greatest hits, including his “Fifth Symphony,” “Fur Elise,” “Pathetique Sonata” (from Opus 13, Movement II) and Ode to Joy (from Ninth Symphony).

Junior Gracie Patrick will serve as drum major. This year’s show will feature the solo brass ensemble of seniors Matt Brazel and Troy Whittaker; juniors Tara Brazel, Camryn Reynolds and Jacob Smith; and sophomore Ruby Watson.

The marching band will participate in a number of additional performances and competitions this fall:

• Wednesday, Sept. 20 — Butler County Band Festival @ Butler Area Senior High School (Butler, Pa.)
• Saturday, Sept. 23 — Moon Area Marching Band Competition @ Moon Area High School (Moon Township, Pa.)
• Friday, Sept. 29 — Mars Area High School 2017 Homecoming Parade, 5 p.m. @ Downtown Mars
• Saturday, Oct. 14 — Deer Lakes Marching Band Competition @ Deer Lakes High School (Russelton, Pa.)
• Saturday, Oct. 21 — PIMBA (Pennsylvania Interscholastic Marching Band Association) Championship at Gateway High School (Monroeville, Pa.)
