Two members of Mars Area High School Girls Varsity Golf Team competed in the 2017 WPIAL Class 3A Girls Individual Championship, held Oct. 4 at Diamond Run Golf Club (Sewickley, Pa.).

Senior Natalie Welsh took sixth place with a score of 81 and freshman Victoria Witouski earned 17th place (95). Welsh qualified to advance to the 2017 PIAA Qualifier, to be held on Monday, Oct. 16, at Tom’s Run Golf Course (Blairsville, Pa.).
