Mars Area junior Amelia Haley advanced to the quarterfinal round of the 2017 WPIAL Class 3A Girls Varsity Tennis Singles Championship, held Oct. 12 at The Club Sport & Health (Monroeville, Pa.)

Haley qualified for the WPIAL event after taking third place in the 2017 Section 2-3A Singles Tournament held Oct. 9-10. Freshman Emily Ivory advanced to the quarterfinal round of the section competition.
