Several Mars Area High School students were selected by solo audition to perform in the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) District 5 Honors Chorus Festival, to be held Oct. 26-28 at Westminster College (New Wilmington, Pa.)

Students are seniors McKenzie Hutchison, Meghana Jayaraman, Braeden Rawa, Chase Reck, Eva Shterengarts and Alec Strawn; and sophomore Griffin Miller.

Dr. Edward Maclary, University of Maryland School of Music director of choral activities and choral conducting, will serve as guest conductor. The event will conclude with a public concert at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28, at Westminster College’s Orr Auditorium. Tickets are $5 and may be purchased at the door.
