Mars Area High School Girls Varsity Volleyball Team ended the 2017 regular season with an overall record of 5-7 and 5-7 in Section 4-3A play.

The Lady Planets advanced to the first round of the 2017 WPIAL Class 3A Girls Volleyball Championship on Oct. 25, but were defeated 3-0 by the West Allegheny Indians.

Outstanding players on this year’s team included seniors Sydney Amell, Isabelle Berkopec, Kaylee Ebbert, Sophia Lamm, Ashley Schlegel and Maddie Schlegel; junior Alayna Chizmar; sophomores Emily Hayward and Paytyn Long; and freshman Elizabeth Long.
