Four members of Mars Area High School Girls Varsity Volleyball Team are listed among the best players in the region.

Senior Sophia Lamm was named to the Pennsylvania Volleyball Coaches Association (PVCA) 2017 All-State Class 3A Girls Volleyball Team. Lamm was also named to the 2017 All-WPIAL Girls Volleyball First Team and junior Alayna Chizmar to the All-WPIAL Second Team.

In addition, Lamm was named to the All-Section Girls Volleyball First Team; Chizmar to the All-Section Second Team; and senior Sydney Amell and sophomore Emily Hayward to the All-Section Third Team. Amell, Chizmar and Lamm were also named to the 2017 Butler Eagle High School Volleyball Honor Roll.

This season, the Lady Planets advanced to the first round of the 2017 WPIAL Class 3A Girls Volleyball Championship. The team ended the regular season with an overall record of 5-7 and 5-7 in Section 4-3A play.
