Seven members of Mars Area High School’s FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) Chapter placed at the 2017-2018 FBLA Regional Leadership Conference, held Dec. 14 at The Fez (Aliquippa, Pa.)
The team of senior Ashley Parham and juniors Alexis Bonifate and Anastasia Bonifate earned second place in the Marketing competition and the team of seniors Luke Diel, Jonathan Knotts and Chase Reck took second place in the Global Business event.
Freshman Andrew Riska received third place in the Intro to Financial Math competition; junior Matthew Olsen, sixth place in Accounting 2; sophomore Zachary Ottenweller, eighth place in Sports & Entertainment Management; and junior Dustin Bauer, ninth place in Accounting 1.
Riska, along with the teams of Parham, Alexis Bonifate and Anastasia Bonifate and Diel, Knotts and Reck, qualified for the 2017-2018 Pennsylvania FBLA State Leadership Conference, to be held April 9-11 in Hershey, Pa.
FBLA is a non-profit educational association of students preparing for careers in business or simply interested in learning more about the American Business Enterprise. The organization aids students in enhancing leadership abilities as well as in preparing for entry into and advancement within a business or business-related occupation.
