Mars Area High School Boys Varsity Wrestling Team competed in the preliminary round of the 2017-2018 WPIAL Class 3A Team Wrestling Championships on Jan. 29.

The Fightin’ Planets advanced to the WPIAL playoffs after taking fourth place in the 2018 WPIAL Section 3-3A Team Wrestling Championship, on Jan. 24. The team, who qualified for the section championships for the first time in the school’s history, advanced to the third place consolation match at the competition.
