Three Mars Area student were selected to receive 2018 Northwest Region-at-Large Scholastic Writing Awards. 

In the Poetry category, junior Madison Ceasar earned a Gold Key for her piece, “standards,” and a Silver Key for “2:47 a.m.” Freshman Symia Taimuty-Loomis received an honorable mention for “My Jacket.”

In the Novel Writing category, eighth-grader Audrey Gehm received an honorable mention for her piece, “The Flight of an Eagle.”
