Several works by Mars Area High School students received awards in the 2018 Associated Artists of Butler County (AABC) High School Art Exhibit.
In the Sculpture category, junior Teressa Wesley earned first place for mixed media piece, “By the Hands of Man.” In the Painting category, freshman Ariana Volkar took second place for her acrylic on canvas, “Jellyfish Lament.”
In the Works on Paper category, junior Claire Valentine received an honorable mention for her colored pencil on illustration board, “Liquid Gold;” and junior Teressa Wesley received an honorable mention for her linoleum block print, Chubby Wubby Baby Club.”
The 2018 AABC High School Art Exhibit remains on display through Saturday, March 3, at the Butler Art Center (Butler, Pa.). For more information, visit http://butlerartcenter.org.
