Two teams of Mars Area High School students competed in the 2018 Southwestern Pennsylvania Regional High School Science Bowl, held Feb. 24 at Community College of Allegheny County — South Campus (West Mifflin, Pa.) 

Members of Mars Team #1 were seniors Meghana Jayaraman, Deepayan Patra (captain), Alec Skomo and Nathan Walker. Mars Team #2 members were senior Colin Nesbitt (captain); sophomores Dalton Becker, Zachary Leachman and Hannah Primm; and freshman Alex Tiller.

The students, who competed against 40 teams from local high schools, were asked questions related to biology, chemistry, earth & space, energy, mathematics and physics.
