Senior Alex Hornfeck placed at the PIAA Class 3A Boys Varsity Wrestling Individual Championships, held March 8-10 at the Giant Center (Hershey, Pa.).

Hornfeck, a member of Mars Area High School Boys Varsity Wrestling Team, took eighth place in the 145-pound weight class. He advanced to the state championships after placing third at the 2017-2018 WPIAL Class 3A Boys Varsity Wrestling Individual Championships, held March 2-3.
