Students to Perform with PMEA Junior High District Band

Numerous Mars Area band members were selected by solo audition to perform in the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) Junior High District Band Festival, to be held on Friday, March 16, at Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic High School (Cranberry Twp., Pa.).

Ninth-graders Veronica Baron (flute), Carly King (oboe), Sarah McCrory (horn), Hannah Miller (horn), Mia Ola (baritone), Alex Smith (trumpet) and Leah Yendell (flute) will perform with the PMEA Ninth Grade Band, conducted by Dr. Robert Cameron, Duquesne University director of bands.

Eighth-graders Audrey Gehm (oboe), Christopher Dvorak (trombone), Ethan Voelker (trumpet), Evan Rojas (tenor sax), Jacob Ottenweller (trombone), Lauren Gayle (horn), Luke Weiland (trumpet), Madalyn Henderson (flute), Madison Moan (clarinet) and Timothy Jayamohan (tenor sax) will perform with the PMEA Seventh/Eighth Grade Band, conducted by Alvin Simpson, Seton Hill University community music instructor of trumpet.

The event will conclude with a public concert at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 16, at North Catholic High School. Tickets are $5 and may be purchased at the door.
