Mars Area High School Boys Varsity Hockey Team took first place in the 2018 Pennsylvania Interscholastic Hockey League (PIHL) Class 2A JV Pool C Post-Season Tournament.

The Fightin’ Planets defeated the Shaler Area Titans 4-3 in overtime, with the winning goal scored by freshman Mack Riemer (assisted by freshman Nathan Isaac). Freshmen Michael Rushe (assisted by Lucas Elder), Connor Kasten (Nate Marti) and Colin Boyle (Mack Riemer) scored the first three goals and goalie Ryder Finn faced 16 shots on goal.

Other team members are junior Lindsey Scott; sophomores Niko Osborne and Austin Radomski; and freshmen Cole Brennan, Nicholas Bruce, Nicholas Crowley, Zachary Gerthoffer, Jamison Hanlon, Zachary Seidita and Shaun Wasylson.
