Students to Perform at PMEA All-State Festival

Three Mars Area High School students were selected by solo audition to perform in the 2018 Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) All-State Festival, to be held April 18-21 at the Lancaster Host Resort & Convention Center (Lancaster, Pa.).

Senior Michelle Manukas (flute) and junior Jacob Smith (trombone) will perform with the All-State Concert Band, conducted by Dr. Andrew Yozviak, West Chester University of Pennsylvania director of bands.

Juniors Sarah Grimm (clarinet) will perform with the All-State Orchestra, conducted by Raphael Jiménez, Oberlin College & Conservatory director of orchestras.

The event will include several public concerts on Saturday, April 21, at J.P. McCaskey High School (Lancaster, Pa.). All-State Concert Band will perform at 10:30 a.m. and All-State Orchestra at 2 p.m. All tickets are $15 and may be purchased online at www.ticketor.com/pmea.
