Numerous Mars Area High School students were inducted into the French National Honor Society (Société Honoraire de Français) Chapter at a special ceremony on April 19.
Students are seniors Rachel Bobko, Taryn Campion, Amanda Chizmar, Raymond Kahn, Anthony Machi, Sydney Miller, Elizabeth Orr, Christa Sauers, Kimberly Schlingloff and Nichole Sommers; and juniors Jordan Badenhop, Allison Brand, Priscilla Bromley, Emily Elder, Lindsey Haines, Jenna Halenda, Amelia Haley, Michael Lamothe, Rachel Lyle, Sean McElroy, Carolyn Mueller, Rachel Scherer, Jacob Smith, Rylie Sperdute, Claire Staudacher, Noah Toparli, Isabella Trimble, Emma Voelker, Teressa Wesley and Erica Wojcikiewicz.
Société Honoraire de Français recognizes high school students in the United States who have maintained excellent grades in at least three semesters of French language courses. To be eligible for participation, students must be enrolled in French 3, French 4 or AP French; maintain a 90 percent or higher in all French classes; have a minimum average GPA of 3.0; and no disciplinary record.
