WPIAL Girls Team Championship

Mars Area High School Girls Varsity Golf Team competed in the semifinals of the 2018 WPIAL Class 3A Girls Team Championship, held Oct. 8 at Rolling Acres Golf Club (Beaver Falls, Pa.).

The Lady Planets took eighth place with an overall score of 396. In individual play, senior Rachel Scherer scored a 92; sophomore Victoria Witouski (93); junior Karlie Hollern (103); junior Abigail Gannon (108); and junior Rachel Goetz (110).

WPIAL Boys Individual Championship

Mars Area senior Chris Sicher competed in the 2018 WPIAL Class 3A Boys Varsity Golf Championships, held Oct. 2 at Oakmont Country Club.

Sicher, a member of Mars Area High School Boys Varsity Golf Team, tied for 27th place with a score of 92. For more information, visit www.wpial.org.

WPIAL Boys Individual Semifinals

Two members of Mars Area High School Boys Varsity Golf Team competed in the 2018 WPIAL Class 3A Boys Varsity Golf Semifinal held Sept. 25, at Youghiogheny Country Club.

Senior Chris Sicher earned seventh place with a score of 78 and senior Shea Moffa took 20th place (82). Sicher will advance to the 2018 WPIAL Class 3A Boys Varsity Golf Championships, to be held on Oct. 2 at Oakmont Country Club.

WPIAL Boys Individual Qualifier

Two members of Mars Area High School Boys Varsity Golf Team placed in the 2018 Section 8-3A Boys Varsity Golf Individual Qualifier, held Sept. 17 at Pittsburgh North Golf Course (Bakerstown, Pa.).

Senior Chris Sicher took third place with a score of 76 and senior Shea Moffa earned fourth place (78). The target score was 80. For more information, visit www.wpial.org.
