PIAA Doubles Championship
The doubles team of senior Amelia Haley and sophomore Emily Ivory advanced to the quarterfinal round, but were defeated by a team from Harriton High School. Haley and Ivory shut out a team from Pittsburgh Carrick High School in the first round of the competition.

WPIAL Team Championships
Mars Area High School Girls Varsity Tennis Team advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2018 WPIAL Class 3A Girls Varsity Tennis Team Championships on Oct. 16, but was defeated 3-2 by the Mt. Lebanon Blue Devils.
The Lady Planets outfoxed the Fox Chapel Foxes 4-1 in the first round of the WPIAL playoffs on Oct. 10. The team ended the regular season with an overall record of 9-2 and 6-2 in Section 2-3A.

WPIAL Doubles
Two members of Mars Area High School Girls Varsity Tennis Team competed in the 2018 WPIAL Class 3A Girls Varsity Tennis Doubles Tournament, held Oct. 3-4 at North Allegheny Senior High School.
The doubles team of senior Amelia Haley and sophomore Emily Ivory took second place and will advance to the 2018 PIAA Class 3A Girls Varsity Tennis Doubles Championship, to be held Friday, Nov. 2, at Hershey Racquet Club.

Section Doubles
Four members of Mars Area High School Girls Varsity Tennis Team compete in the 2018 Girls Varsity Tennis Section 2-3A Doubles Tournament, held Sept. 27 at North Allegheny Senior High School.
The doubles team of senior Amelia Haley and sophomore Emily Ivory took first place, earning the school’s first-ever Class 3A section title. The doubles team of sophomore Isabella Gaydosh and freshman Lauren Miko advanced to the second round of the section event.
Haley and Ivory will advance to the 2018 WPIAL Class 3A Girls Varsity Tennis Doubles Championship, to be held Oct. 4 at North Allegheny Senior High School.

Mars Area senior Amelia Haley took fourth place at the 2018 WPIAL Class 3A Girls Varsity Tennis Singles Championship, held Sept. 20-21.

MAC Tournament — Co-Champions
In singles competition, senior Amelia Haley earned first place in First Singles; sophomore Emily Ivory, second place in Second Singles; and sophomore Isabella Gaydosh, second place in Third Singles. In doubles competition, the team of senior Madelene Lussier and junior Emma Nelson took first place in Second Doubles; and the team of senior Lauren Lussier and freshman Lauren Miko took second place in First Doubles.
