Several members of Mars Area High School Orchestra were selected by solo audition to perform in the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) District Orchestra Festival, to be held Jan. 10-12 at McDowell High School (Erie, Pa.).

Students are seniors Dustin Bauer (bass), Tara Brazel (violin), Sarah Grimm (clarinet), Jenna Halenda (flute) and Jacob Smith (trombone); junior Zach Ottenweller (bass); and sophomore Mia Ola (cello). Jonathan R. Moser, Mercyhurst University director of orchestras, Erie Philharmonic principle second violinist and Erie Junior Philharmonic musical director, will serve as guest conductor.

The event will conclude with a public concert at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 12, at McDowell Intermediate High School. Tickets are $4 for adults and $3 for students may be purchased at the door.
