Hooper was admitted to the Duke University Accelerated STEM Academy. To apply for the program, she was required to submit an academic resume, essay, transcript and letters of recommendation; and, she will complete a research project following the summer session.
The program offers an opportunity for high school students to immerse themselves in a college environment, while engaging in rigorous academics. Participants also join in a myriad of extracurricular activities.
