Two Mars Area High School seniors are planning to continue their sports careers at the college level:
Caden Ferguson signed a letter of intent to join the Pioneers Men’s Soccer Team at Marietta College (Marietta, Ohio), where he plans to major in petroleum engineering.
He is a four-year member of the Mars Area High School Boys Varsity Soccer Team, which took fourth place in the 2018 WPIAL Class 3A Boys Soccer Championship. The Fightin’ Planets ended the regular season with an overall record of 16-1-1 and remaining undefeated (14-0) in section play, earning the Section 1-3A title.
Ferguson was named to the 2018 All-Section Boys Soccer Team.
Kaitlyn Pietrusinski signed a letter of intent to join the Titans Women’s Soccer Team at Westminster College (New Wilmington, Pa.), where she plans to major in nursing.
She is a four-year member of the Mars Area High School Girls Varsity Soccer Team, which advanced to the 2018 PIAA Class 3A Girls Soccer Championship quarterfinals and took second place in the 2018 WPIAL Class 3A Girls Soccer Championship. The Lady Planets ended the 2018 regular season with an overall record of 15-0 and went undefeated (14-0) in section play, earning the Section 1-3A title.
Pietrusinski also competes in the 400-Meter Run as a member of the Mars Area High School Girls Varsity Track & Field Team.
