Vo-Tech Students Compete in State SkillsUSA Competition

Two Mars Area High School students represented Butler County Area Vocational-Technical School at the 2019 SkillsUSA Pennsylvania State Conference, held April 15-17 in Hershey, Pa.

Junior Roshan Nunna (Computer Networking & Security) earned a Silver Medal in the Information Technology Services contest. Junior Anastasia Starr (Graphic Design) and her team members earned a Bronze Medal in the Promotional Bulletin Board category.

The students competed against high school students from career and technical education centers across the state. The SkillsUSA competition reinforces the field-related skills that students are learning in the classroom as well as their leadership prowess.

SkillsUSA District 10 Competition

Two Mars Area High School students who attend Butler County Area Vocational-Technical School placed in the 2019 SkillsUSA “Champions at Work” District 10 Competition, held Jan. 18 at New Castle School of Trades.

Junior Roshan Nunna, a Computer Networking & Security student, earned a Gold Medal in the Information Technology Services contest; and junior Anastasia Starr, a Graphic Design student, received a “bye” in the Bulletin Board contest. Both will advance to the 2019 SkillsUSA Pennsylvania State Conference, to be held April 10-12 in Hershey, Pa.

The students competed against high school students from other District 10 career and technical education centers. The SkillsUSA competition reinforces the field-related skills that students are learning in the classroom as well as their leadership prowess.
