Richard Schoeffel, Mars Area High School Student Council advisor, was named the Pennsylvania Association of Student Councils (PASC) Region A High School Advisor of the Year.

A health and physical education teacher at Mars Area High School since 2010, Schoeffel and his fellow teacher Ryan Robertson are the current co-advisors for the school’s Student Council. Schoeffel was presented with the honor at the 2019 PASC Region A Conference, held Feb. 15 at Lauren Middle/High School.

Student council officers and school staff in each PASC region select one outstanding high school and middle school as the advisor of the year. Advisors selected at the regional level are then nominated for the State Advisor of the Year Award.
