Mars Area High School is listed as 1,750 among schools across the United States, according to an “America’s Best STEM High Schools” ranking published by Newsweek on Jan. 8.
The rankings, established by Newsweek, working in partnership with STEM.org Educational Research, identify those school that offer skilled teachers who keep up with developments in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics and who create dynamic learning environments to engage their students. Mars Area High School received a score of 70.22.
STEM.org developed a proprietary scoring logic to determine those American primary and secondary schools that best offer students experiences in STEM fields, as defined by the Congressional Research Service, while preparing students for post-secondary outcomes. Additional factors, such as affluence and median household income, were considered.
